New Laptop Restarting Without Notice Or Apparent Reason
It shuts down without warning or apparent reason, and then restarts itself. Do you know what it is exactly ? I'm actually not sure if it happens much on battery power so I'll test that and see. I know someone who is an electrical engineer and has lots of the tools that might help in a case like this. Finally, I believe it tends to happen when I use the laptop (keys or mouse, as opposed to it just happening while idling) though I'm not certain. Vista & 7 Click on Start and then on Control Panel. Verify they're all operating. I had *real* IBM Think Pads before; this one from Lenovo is clearly worse than the former IBM series. Seems to be working with old RAM. the case fan or something on the PSU interacting with the fan. When i tried to start my computer back again it would make the loud noice, wouldn't boot at all and kept restarting after a few seconds. This could indicate that one or more of the fans have failed.
