Windows reveals a code 10 and mentions the driver did not install correctly. I presume another update will follow for other people (?) No worries with Realtek Audio Driver V220.127.116.1157 for Windows 8 32bit & 64bit.(Beta) on my P8P67 Works fine Guilz My System Make adjustments with it and see if it helps. SATA II drive and Win7 and it zips away! this resolved my issue with switching from internal speakers and external speakers! My sound device (Realtek ALC888) which is an on-board sound chip is not being detected by the kernel. By adding the line; options snd_hda_intel model = hp-6stack to / etc./modeprobe.d/50-sound.conf the sound started a little bit to function. any help, again, is greatly appreciated. Usually with W7 windows i had to install the driver from asus's website...

Hello all, I am bumping up this thread after 740 days, because I am facing the same issues as described by frigs. I have Windows Vista X64 on... so i uninstalled the driver, reboot, installed new driver from realtek, and it worked for like 4 hours, then no sound again.
