I don't know if Microsoft changed the volume things a lot for Windows 7, but it's possible that bug exists still in Windows 7. But I did it with my keyboard mute key, so that should have been system-wide.
I do strongly suspect Creative banned winamp with a custom made WASAPI APO filter. http://openobjects.org/no-sound/no-sound-in-vista.html Also please do not forget to reboot your computer. If there were any Windows corruptions, this will fix it. volume bar was all the way down - turned it up and video playing sound.

I have no idea how it got to mute it just did by itself out of nowhere apparently, if anyone knows how it happened I would appreciate if you would let weblink Then it reboots again, upon which vista loads up fine.
still no sound when playing anything in winamp. All of a sudden today the sound went out, I thought I kicked the wire loose. So i loaded up my game once i reached windows, and the first thing i noticed was the very jumpy, stuttery, crackly music on the main menu of the game.
So why does it have a 7.1 setting on the sound setup.
So it's not a global problem by the looks of things. Realtek HD Audio 5.1 only outputs 2.1 in Windows 7 Realtek Audio Device/Windows 7 X-FI and vista Realtek on board sound windows 7 issue Low Sound: Realtek Vista x64 Toshiba Satellite Lenovo subsystem see that jacks are plugged in.
